HOMELESSNESS BECOMES GREATER CONCERN DURING PANDEMIC

As my high school is based in the Bay Area, I thought that reporting on the growing issue of homelessness would be insightful and help those understand the gravity of the situation. As the pandemic brought many difficulties, it also significantly affected the homeless population in the Bay Area.

THRIFTING HEIGHTENS DURING PANDEMIC, AFFECTS ENVIRONMENT

Due to the pandemic's effects, many people have also started to shop in thrift shops as money became tighter. Not only have those with fewer incomes taken an interest in thrifting, but many others have as well since its process produces unique and environmentally beneficial finds.

PANDEMIC PRESENTS NEW OBSTACLES FOR THANKSGIVING CELEBRATIONS

From farmers to food pantries, the coronavirus struck them all in various ways, with some doing better than others—however, many suffered food and turkey shortages, which created lasting struggles during the Thanksgiving season.

KING TIDES HELP VISUALIZE RISING SEA LEVELS

When unnatural and harmful substances are used and marketed, that causes a recipe for disaster. Greenhouse gases are just one of the multiple substances adding to the growing concern of climate change and causing sea levels and tides to rise.

Immigration is no stranger to America, but sometimes the journeys behind it are. Overlap: Home, Immigration, and Identity's artists focused on creating pieces of art that displayed their personal experiences and took on what immigration and identity meant to them.

EARTH DAY'S IMPACT AND MESSAGE

Since the first Earth Day commenced in 1970, its movement and impact have increased immensely. Conscientious behaviors about individual environmental impacts are practiced on almost a daily basis, not just on Earth Day, which is helping close the colossal gap of pollution produced and littered slowly.

ADMINISTRATION: BEYOND THE SURFACE

Carlmont High School's administration faces criticism by students and staff daily, but recently is a topic of greater interest. To understand those a part of its administration a little more and what all happens in the behind-the-scenes of running a school, this feature article discusses various things. From the roles of each administrator to what they do, what goes into running school is highly time-consuming and takes an immense amount of planning.

INCREASING VIOLENCE IN MALLS: THE RISK OF RETAIL WORK

As working in a mall, I have experienced some violence, which has put me into scary situations. I felt as though this was a topic no one had really covered or was even aware existed, and wanted to shed light on the situation. The article discusses the types of violence workers in malls encounter and offers solutions as to how we can provide workers with more security and safety during their shifts.
